Yunnan Landsuntea Green Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in May 1996 by the local Party Committee and the government for the purpose of building an important pillar industry to make good use of the local resources and to revitalize the pu’er tea industry. After constant reforms and rapid development Landsuntea has become a comprehensive company specialized in the growth, processing and marketing of pu’er tea. With one subsidiary and seven branches it now has a hundred thousand mu of tea land and 40 thousand mu of tea gardens. With 27 raw tea processing factories and 2 pu’er tea processing factories its annual productive power reaches to about 10 thousand tons of tea products. So far Landsuntea has a workforce of more than 20 thousand and 600 executives of all kinds. The total assets of the company amount to 200 million yuan and have enjoyed a degree of AAA credit in the bank. The debt ratio of the enterprise is 58%. Landsuntea is a leading enterprise at the national level in helping the poor and a key leading enterprise at the provincial level in managing the agriculture in an industrial way. It is the largest tea industry in Yunnan Province.
The major tea products of the company fall into four categories including pu’er tea series, green tea, jasmine tea and oolong tea, which are further divided into nearly a thousand kinds. In November 2000, Landsuntea passed the international quality control standards of ISO9000. In August 2001, the scented tea of Landsuntea won the gold medal in the national quality evaluation for jasmine tea. In August 2002, the Cuiming Tea of Landsuntea won the gold medal in the third national quality evaluation for green tea. In April 2003, the Pu’er Tea of Landsuntea was awarded the title of the “King of Pu’er Tea” in the sixth national quality evaluation for Pu’er tea. In October 2006, the brand of “Landsuntea” was approved as the “Famous Brand of Yunna Province”. In 2006, the green tea of Cuiming, the jasmine tea and the pu’er tea of Landsuntea were approved as “green food” by the Green Food Development Center of China, and Landsuntea was granted the health certificate of registration for exporting pu’er tea.
Landsuntea was also granted the certificate by the Chinese Agricultural Products Quality Control Center to produce and process the organic tea in its ten-thousand-mu tea gardens. The ten-thousand-mu tea gardens in Yingpanshan are currently shifting from the ordinary tea production to the organic tea production. Landsuntea was also granted the JAS certificate of Japan and the NOP certificate of USA for its three thousand mu of tea gardens and its pu’er tea processing factories.
In 2001, Landsuntea set up the first trading market in China for pu’er tea with its own investment and the market is by far the largest of its kind in the southwest of Yunnan Province. In April 2005, Landsuntea built the first trading center for the collection of pu’er tea, a very good platform for pu’er tea amateur collectors in their collection activities and communication. In August of the same year, a modern production line for the production of raw tea, processed tea and compressed tea went into operation in Landsuntea. In December 2005, Landsuntea became the first enterprise which passed the Quality Standards for food manufacturing license with an A degree. In August 2006, the tea gardens of Landsuntea became the raw material base for pu’er tea at the national level. Landsuntea also took on the task of constituting the standards for “big-leaf organic tea”, a program for the third agricultural standardization of China assigned by the State Administration for Quality Control, and later it became the professional standard-setter for the standardization of raw pu’er tea materials in the fifth agricultural standardization of China. In July 2007, Landsuntea became the first tea enterprise that had got the certificate of AAA degree for its “good standardized operation”, which indicates administration work in Landsuntea has been put on a standardized, programmed, normalized and scientific development track.
At present, Landsuntea has established its countrywide general distributors, exclusive stores and a raw tea material base as well as a marketing network for the production and processing of pu’er tea in a standardized, regulated and scientific way, and such measures have greatly enhanced the good reputation of the company. The praise for and the satisfaction with its products from consumers laid a solid foundation for both the creation of famous brands in tea industry and the entrance of pu’er tea of Landsuntea into the world market. |
